The national government has excluded the zero-tariff import benefit for smaller electric units such as motorcycles, tricycles, and quadricycles. This was done through Decree 44/2026, published today in the Official Bulletin and processed by the Argentine News Agency. Additionally, it was determined that if the annual quota of 50,000 units with zero tariffs is not met, the difference can be used in the following period. The models that are excluded are: Categories of 2 and 3 wheels (motorcycles and derivatives) L1: Two-wheeled mopeds. L2: Three-wheeled mopeds. L3: Motorcycles. Includes scooters and conventional street motorcycles. L4: Motorcycles with sidecar. These are motorcycles that have a sidecar attached for an extra passenger. L5: Tricycles. Similar to the previous ones in power and speed, but with three wheels (light tricycles). They are divided into: L5(a): For passenger transport. L5(b): For cargo transport (often with a box or cabin). Categories of 4 wheels (Quadricycles and microcars). L6: Light quadricycles. L6(b): Light quadricycles with an enclosed cabin. L7: Heavy quadricycles. L7(a): Conventional quadricycles or 'quads'. L7(b): Quadricycles with a cabin (urban microcars). Four-wheeled vehicles with greater power and speed than L6. Three-wheeled vehicles with more powerful engines than a moped. Two-wheeled vehicles with engines over 50 cc or that exceed 50 km/h. 50 cc mopeds that do not exceed 50 km/h in speed. Four-wheeled vehicles with a weight (without batteries) of less than 350 kg and a speed that does not exceed 45 km/h.
